We particularly want to help you get connected to church so please contact me (alan@ivymanchester.org or facebook) if you have ANY questions about preparing for uni, meeting new people or finding our church services! We also are passionate about students getting connecting to a church, whether we are right for you or not, we can recommend some great churches in Manchester to check out.
MANCHESTER SCENE
There are over 80000 students in Manchester, so the city is not the same without them, and neither is the church! Sadly only 30% of Christian students find a church during their uni years, and with that decision much of their faith erodes over those years. Churchinaclub is based in Fallowfield and is part of the bigger church family IvyMcr, which has a morning service with an all age, family feel and a 7pm service in Didsbury that draws a mix of people.
Churchinaclub aims to be a thriving Jesus centred community that becomes a spiritual home for students. We've purposely based on the doorstep of thousands of students who might not connect with a church otherwise. The Sunday service draws mainly students/20s and provides a base for making friends and being part of a community. Students at Ivy also meet together midweek in smaller groups (6-10 people) called grow groups with many other events and activities going on during the week.
There are lots of students and 20somethings as part of churchinaclub that have found a place to know God better, grow in community life and go as a missionary into the universities and world of Manchester. Whether you're already a full on Jesus follower looking for a great church home in your new location - or just interested in finding out more, we'd love to meet you.
